First batch Rodinal, about to soup.

Let me just make sure this sounds right with you old pros before i soup my roll in the virgin waters of rodinal.

Tri-x 400 exposed @ 200 iso
Rodinal 1:50
500cc water to 10cc rodinal
9 minutes @ 68f

I'm not sure how to agitate.

First minute continuously and then maybe two or three inversions every following minute (Depends on your way of moving the tank, the design of the reels etc. ). If you are not a fan of much grain then it is better to keep the temperature below 20 degrees C (19.5 works very well for me).

Good luck. Rodinal is very forgiving in that you can expect to get an image with a variety of techniques, times, temps etc. I find that as well as how much you agitate, be careful not to agitate too vigorously. Gentle is the name of the game. I rock left to right through 180 degrees and keep the temp below or at 20 deg c and find that gives good,
But not too grainy results. Keep notes and vary one thing at a time to see what works for you.

I agree, but I do even less agitation. My standard routine now is continuous agitation for the first 30 seconds, then 2-3 inversions at 9, 6, and 3 minutes counting down (typically, from 11-12 minutes).

Well done, they look excellent. It's extremely gratifying when that first roll comes out of the cannister and you find that you've got honest to goodness developed negatives. Look forward to seeing some scans.

Thank you! It wAs such a pleasure using a syringe and needle to measure out a one shot amount of rodinal. So much better than mixing powder and fumbling around with big jugs. I plan on scanning some this weekend and will post some results here. As of now, I couldn't be happier.

I go 12.5 minutes for 1+50
For 1+100 I develop for 45 minutes, agitating every 5 minutes (by agitate I mean I invert and spin the tank two or three times)

I notice you used 500ml.
On my single reel tank, only 300ml is enough, that comes to 6ml per roll. Rodinal is not expensive, but 4ml savings per roll could go a long ways.

Agitation-wise, I'm even more relaxed. A couple of turns after the liquid is in, and one inversion every four minutes for 12 min. total development (not counting water bath and fixer).

Good for you! I use 1:50 tri x @200 for either 16 min (strong/harsh light) or 22 min for soft light. Works like a champ for me.

Too much agitation in my experience with Rodinal produces very grainy negs. For ISO 100 films I like 1:100, with a couple of flips at the start, one flip at 15 minutes, and pull the film at 30 minutes. The water temp is a little below 20C.
