I will possibly do my first commercial job - photographing pottery for a presentation of an art student- never did so before but i can do a pretty good still life so I think it will be well - I am all excited and tingly inside

Nice to hear that!
I hope it´ll be the starting point of a nice adventure which is earning your living from picture taking, something not all people could do. My advise: do it, so you´ll never be able to regret of never tried to!

I also started another commercial adventure with photography a few days ago: repairing old cameras. It was a decision taken after a lot of failed attempts of getting a full day employment (you know? at 53 y.o. here you are too old!!). Together with this, I´m offering restoration work and trading cameras. This way I´ll find enough financial resources to allow me to keep shooting film.

Hope you the best luck!

Congradulations! I was trying to remember what my first paying photo job was and I think it was for a motorcycle related product in the late 70's for magazine placement. To be precise it was my first civilian photo job. I spent a very long year as a photographer in Viet Nam with the 25th Infantry Division in the early 70's.

But as old farts often do, I digress.

Good luck and I hope you exceed the expectations of both your client and yourself.
