With nervous hands, I attached my brand new 75/2 Summicron to my M6 and ventured out early this a.m. to visit the newly-returned Rocky statue to the Philadelphia Museum of Art(actually just 2 blocks away from my high-rise apt.). After getting used to the 50-75 frame line distinction, I enjoyed the smooth focusing and solid feel to this nice lens. I've attached...or hope I did, the first shot taken of this famous statue, with the sun peeking through the early morning haze.
Thanks for viewing.

Nice lens. I have one but do not use it enough. The last time I was in Boston I used the 75 down by the docks. Came in very handy there. Not sure if I have examles in my gallery though. Enjoy that lens!

Thanks. This lens was an absolute impulse purchase. After reading tons about this lens, I "had" to have it. I thought my Contax G Zeiss lenses were the best ever, but even after only 1 roll through the camera, I am proclaiming this to be the best lens I've ever owned.

With all the hub-bub about the Rocky statue around here (is it art...should it be at the top of the art museum steps, at the bottom, down at the sports complex instead...) it is so nice to see a simple, quiet, beautiful shot of it, while the blathering crowds are no doubt still snug in their beds.

Charlesfoto - Congrats on an unbelievable Leica lens. You will come to really enjoy this lens.

K.P. - I keep telling you (35 Lux ASPH, 50 Lux ASPH, and 75 Cron ASPH) - None better. :bang: 😀 I agree with you on the 28 Cron ASPH not being my bag of tea either and can't comment on the wider focal lengths since I really don't use them. You really do need to try a 50 Lux ASPH before a Nocti. P.S.: Since I already spent my own money, I love to help others spend theirs.

Best,

Ray

The 75mm Summicron is one sweet lens and saved me money too by replacing my 75mm Summilux and 90mm Elmarit. It makes a great combo with the 35mm Summicron. This is one of Leica's must haves. While it is sharp it does not look harsh like the 90AA which I got rid of pretty quickly.

Congratulations Charles! It's my third day with the lens, I 'll post here photos when I have something interesting. I bought it new going against my better judgement - that's how badly I wanted it. And as I said before: I am so poor but so happy 😉

Enjoy the beauty, and revel in the fact that you've just f***ed up my Leica five-month acquisition programme

Wow Magus, your easily sold on just one web based photo. Your a salesmans delight especially a Leica one! LOL

Nice!

I think I know where you must live -- I used to live at 22nd and Locust. The fountains in front of the Art Museum were my dogs' favorite swimming spots.
