I don't see it as competition for dealers - more of a showcase to display alternative merchandise to what you can buy at Best Buy and Target. There is a generation or two out there that have never know what a Leica is.
Apple stores before the iphone were much like that. A test tube to play with Macs and Ipods. Not many coughed up $400 for ipods 5 years ago.
