Nice camera & lens is sharp. The trix looks great pushed to 1600. I like the grain & texture. Goes along with the subject. Of all the Leica's I would love to own I believe it's the MP.

Congrats on the new MP!

Sorry for the very newbish question. What does "push to 1600" mean? Was the film itself a 1600 film, or is that a processing technique?

Thank you.

Pushing is a processing technique where one takes a lower speed film, rates it higher in the camera and then processes it accordingly. Usually it means processing the film a bit longer. You usually get more grain by doing this as opposed to just using a higher speed film, but as you can see by the results here it just looks cool!!!

Trix is 400 speed film.

three more... thanks for the kind words!

it's a pleasure to shoot with a LEICA... different, more strong feeling than with my Minolta CLE, but I'm in love with the tiny CLE for ever 😉
The pictures were taken on Tri-x, push2 to 1600iso and developed in X-Tol 1+1 for 14.30min at 20°C...

congratulations on the MP.....what a great all-round shooter! Did you pick yours up used or new? Have you used any other developer than xtol with the trix at 1600? I pull trix the other way most of time to 250 with rodinal.

thomas...
I've tried D-76 as well, but the results were not close as good as with x-tol... for pulling tri-x I use D-76 1+1
cheers, gian
