First photos with the Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f/1.2

I'm not crazy about my first shots with the f/1.2. These pictures are from the first two days with the lens. If you have any recommendations for focusing at 1.2 I would appreciate your input. I'm used to shooting with the 50mm Nokton, so shooting a bit wider, in terms of composition is going to take me a while to adjust. I have a small prescription for my eyes and I'm wondering if that will make a big difference when focusing and using 1.2.

i've been using this lens for some 6 months now, and absolutely love it. i find its the one lens that is usually stuck to my m7. some pics of mine taken with this beauty:

Thanks for the replies. Thomas what is EBL? Generally I'm ok focusing with the 1.5 but there are times I have the same issue. I think part of my issue is that I'm expecting sharpness that might only be gotten with shutter speeds greater then 1/60th or 1/125th.

Looks a little like it's back focusing (focusing behind the intended plane of focus) but I could be wrong. A diopter would help (it helped me). Take some pictures in good light of a stationary subject and check the focus accuracy. Since you're shooting digital you'll see the results immediately. The 35/1.2 will be my next lens to purchase.

I don't really see how a diopter would help if the issue is the short EBL...

A lot of your shots look 'off'. I'm not technical but I had the 35/1.2 in the past and mine didn't do that.

Oops, I meant magnifier, not diopter. But a diopter wouldn't hurt either!

There is a spreadsheet with the EBL of various rangefinders. It was from this post by digitalintrigue:

The EBL of the RD1 is 38.2, longer than the CL, CLE, R/R2, R3, R4, and very close to the .58 MP (39.7 EBL). According to the chart it says that the 35/1.2 will focus OK on all cameras in the chart. Now I'm only using it as a reference and I don't have a 35/1.2 or a RD1 so I'm no expert. But I am hoping that the chart is accurate because I'm doing some research before I buy my Voiglander kit which includes the 35/1.2. I'm sure there are other forum members that use the RD1+35/1.2 combo that will offer help. Hope this helps.

Here's a shot from yesterday @ Twilight. Lens was set @ f1.2 hand held @ 1/90 @ ISO 640, as I recall. Shot on M8 and I always use a 1.25x eyepiece to focus.
I've found it to be a great lens.

thanks for all the replies, I'll update when I have read up on EBL and gotten a magnifier. If my R-D1s just came back from Steve's Camera, should it be back focusing or am I the one who is back focusing?
