Dear All
Thought I'd say hi. I have just been lucky enough to acquire some rangefinders amongst them a Nikon S2.
It is a lovely thing and in very good condition, I always wanted one as a kid! I now have to relearn the skills of real photography( learnt 30years ago with a Zenit EM SLR)
Does the S2 have any particular vices I should look out for? I intend to just use it and see what happens.
Cheers Jon

No known vices - just one of the best rangefinders for the 50mm lens ever. Oh, keep your finger from the rim of the rotating shutter speed dial when you fire it! If not, you slow down the speed inadvertently. Also, you have to relearn to always, and I mean ALWAYS put the camera down, preferably with the lens down in sunny weather. The lens will work as a magnifying glass and happily burn a hole in the shutter curtain.
Great cameras, just load it up and go forth shooting. Any other questions will be answered by anyone on this forum anyway.

Dear Jon,
Dunno about the vices of S2s but I always idly fancied one. Just not enough to pay the money (I've used Leicas for 40 years). I'm sure you'll have fun with it. Meanwhile, welcome to the forum!
Cheers,
R.
