First Results with Fuji Natura Camera

The Natura cannot be reapaired in the USA unless you bought it from Steven here. I asked.
I thought for a while that the shutter has problems and recently the camera started flashing a digit after I rewound the film. The camera died and locked up. I took the batteries out for 15 minutes,and it looks fine now. The instruction manual is in Japanese.

It is a gamble to get one in the USA. Nobody will repair it unless you buy it from Steven here and get a one year warranty.

The faults that I saw in the previous roll of film and which led me to believe that something was wrong with the camera were results from using overexposure +1 with the use of flash. Maybe the longer exposure messed up the flash synch. I avoided using +1 this time.

i am curious and wanted to clarify

is it not possible to set the aperture at all at 1.9 on this camera?
if so, then what is the point? its kind of hard to get that 1.9 dof if needed...😕 😕

There is no manual control with the Natura, just exposure compensation

I would use EFKE/ADOX 25 film and try to get the lens to open up to 1.9. Another way would be to somehow use a strong ND filter.

I took yesterday a 24 exposure roll of film in the Natura, and it sounded as usual. I think that I listened to people's suggestions here to overexpsose +1 with the Natura so that it compensates for underexposing [this is maybe due to the 24mm coverage]. I then may have messed things up by using flash. Maybe the flash synch does not work correctly when adjusteing exposure? I simply avoided using flash or exposure adjustments yesterday. The camera is a treat to use. I use ASA 100 to get larger apertures.

This is what's left from a pier at my friend's home. They had to get a new pier twice already, after each hurricane. This is Escambia Bay in Pensacola.

This is the Wentworth Museum in Pensacola. It houses "historical" items from Florida and the local region. In front of the building, there are archeological findings. As you may know, Pensacola is the first settlement in the USA. It was followed by St. Augustine.

This old lady just got her Doctorate in Education. A few months ago she came to my office requesting some guidance [statistics] for her dissertation. She told me then that even though she already was retired, she was doing her Doctorate to motivate her grandchildren! What a great woman she is. I took this photo of my daughters with he in front of the Wentworth Museaum,which also is across Quayside Art Gallery where I have been a member since about 18 years.

Andy,
There is a whizzing sound from AF at each shot, but the shutter is quiet. The camera pre-advances the film once you load the film, so there is no rewinding at the end of the roll. It is a very fast pre-advancing of the film.
