I've purchased a yashica gsn on ebay and now I'm looking on the photos with astonishment!!

you can view some samples in here :

What amazing color rendition this is !! I've shot them with 400ASA fuji color negatives, and cannot believe the sharpness, detail and colors right now...

not to mention, metering is right on... I didn't renew the light seals yet...

But, as I proceed through the pictures, there are some with white-ish line on the left, all the same, which can be viewed in here :

Do you have any idea about the reason of these ?? There are only 4 pictures like this in whole roll...

Regards,

yes, but it's strange it's on few exposures... maybe after renewing the light seals, it'll be solved... I've already ordered seals of jon goodman, and waiting for them...

Impressive pix & camera, congrats.

Had my GSN too long ago to remember it's back door & seal configuration.

Considering that the images are formed upside-down & backward
in the camera, where does that place the defects relative to the
seals, openings etc.?

Where are the defective exposures located along the entire roll?

Looks like you've got a keeper & know how to use it. Good luck.

Thanks a lot!!

Thanks a lot!!

Hi Utku, first of all, nice pictures,
secondly, what kind of battery are you feeding the magnificent beast with?

thanks..

A radioshack 6v that came up in camera... I guess I'll pass up to Varta 4LR44 6v battery when it dies...

Looks like a light leak, but it's only on a few exposures. Hmm.
Please tell me how can you see the light leek I'm not sure my yashica has the same problem or not. I can't see the difference...

The white band spans the width of the film; light striking the film makes for lighter image on the print/positive ... greyhoundman confirmed that it is the door hinge seal that needs replacing.

Thanks - I just missed the second link :bang:
now I can clearly see the difference. Fortunately there is no such a problem with mine.

yes, the colour is absolutely wonderful ... but so is the contrast, the sharpness ... Yashica is seducing me.

Welcome to Yashica madness....

I´ve disregarded the Electro 35 for almost 36 years. Got mine one year before and seeing the first roll, I´ve realized what a wonderfull camera it is.
You´ll love it as I did.

Enjoy it and Good Luck!!

I regret selling my Electro now. Wonderful camera. I just liked how it handled. Need to get more comfortable with my Canonet.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.
