First Roll,samples and thoughts. Nikonos V

I picked up this camera out of curiosity and out of cheapness. Complete with 2 35mm 2.5 lenses, a Ikelite substrobe flash rig and a pelican case, the camera and all of its accessories onlu plunged me a minimal 25 dollars. It was a deal i couldn't pass! All in all, the camera is different, its even a bit difficult! I had to use my girlfriends Nikon FE and 35mm lens to focus and get the exact distance of the Nikon to than reference it into my final distance selection onto the Nikonos. After a few shots and practicing by averaging distances than checking my guesses with an SLR I got confident enough to shoot without a back up camera for focus. I really like this camera, and I think I might use it more on ground than I ever will underwater. I might even shoot some color portraits with it this weekend!

My beautiful girlfriend, I lost a battery so I had to meter with my phone, 1/90th at f4. the fuzziness is due to water being on the lens, actually really loved the effect.

I'm another who can't see any of your images. Hopefully, this can be corrected as I'd really like to see them.

It's hard to believe, but I bought the Nikonos V many years ago for about $900. That was for the camera and several lenses. After digital cameras became available, no one wanted to shoot with the Nikonos any more.

I took many images with this camera underwater. For its time, it was a great camera and many of the world's finest underwater photographers produced some excellent images with it.

You got yourself a bargain. Have fun with the Nik V and the 35 2.5 lens!

I couldn't upload them since they were too big! if you're on a computer right clicking and opening them as a link should work! if there's another way please let me know! I think the problem was them being too large

Go to your picture on flickr. Press the "share" button (arrow bending to the right). Select "BBCode". Select reasonable size (800 or 1024 max at the longest side). Copy/paste that into RFF.

You got a great deal! It's a wonderful camera to use in rain/snow and dusty/sandy conditions above water. Use the DOF indicators on the lens to zone focus. Piece of cake.

Great camera. I’ve owned one for several years now. If you do use it in inclement weather, be aware that water spots on the lens cover will show up on your negs/slides. Scale-focusing can be a challenge for objects that are close to the camera when shooting wide-open. I kayak and my Nikonos is always something I bring along with me.

I like your pictures, especially the third one down! I thought for years about getting a Nikonos with 35mm lens, so I could photograph in the rain. But I got old, and no longer feel like photographing in the rain . . . at least not so much.
