Well I had some HC-110 laying around here for a bit so I decided today was the day to play around with something other than my trusty Rodinal. Used dilution E with Tri-X for 8 minutes straight from the syrup.

First impression, they looked good before hanging them to dry! I'll report more once dried and cut.

Funny thing... I am so used to Rodinal that when I poured out the developer and it wasn't black so I was sure I had blown it. Yes, it's been some time since I used another developer.

Anyway, great fun. Only downside... I used a squeegee like a fool and yup, looks like a fine scratch. My bad.

I love HC110. I recently badly messed up developing 120 film and used around 4 times more developer than I should have. The negatives were very thick but were still usable, even though printing was a bit difficult.

I too developed my first Tri-X (120) roll in HC110 recently. I was using HC110 as Rodinal, dilution 1+50 for 8min (appr. like dilution E), agitating 30sec first and inserting twice every 30secs. I think I overcooked it but not too much.

Yeah, gotta love it when Rodinal turns dark :) But actually HC-110 will also change color, from a bright yellow to a darker orange... and eventually also very dark / black. Will keep very long too - I did not test the black stuff in an almost empty bottle, since HC-110 is very cheap per film, but I sure used it in dark-orange-mode, and it worked just fine.

Greetings, Ljós
