Your photos are really great to look at! We are the same age and I'm trying much to approve with my FED-2 and the now arrived lightmeter from Pitxu.
For b/w I used Agfa APX 400 before, but I think I will change and get myself some XP2 from Ilford soon.
I'll also try colour, but from the local drugstore (Rossmann house brand).

Thanks a lot florian
I had some APX, and imho it is an awful film, with burned hight light and ugly shadows. For an old camera I prefer "roots" film such as HP5 and Trix, they can stand exosure errors (i have no problems with picture over/under exposed by 2 stops
, witch is much more difficult with new films
. I have trix for 3 euro each roll while, bulk apx cost me about 2 euros per film. So I prefer to pay a good and satisfying film than using a cheap but ugly film
I would like to have a fed and a collapsible, that would be great for street photo

So, do you meter the light once in a while and then guess the time and apperture or do you meter all the time newly?
I shot the first roll with the FED-2 all with 1/50 shutter speed. And some photos came out not that bad.
I also like street photos a lot, but sometimes it is not that easy to walk around with a camera and shoot people you don't know and didn't ask before ;-)

I measure once in a while, to see make sure sunny f16 works and the I change depending on the light. Feel free to play with aperture and speeds, it is easy. With kiev 4 I can go to 1/10 without tripod

I think I will buy one roll of XP 2 tomorrow. I'm more into black and white than into colour.

Very nice shots and on the meter front

by the time you are 65 like me, you may have a Luna Pro F, A Luna Pro SBC, A Luna Pro, A Minolta IIIF, A Minolta Auto Meter II, A Sekonic L-428, most with spot attachments as well. You may still be frustrated by wonderful pictures like this post, taken using the Sunny 16 Rule.
Huumph!!!
Not to mention a handful of smaller meters.
Interestingly, all of these meters are all over the place, with a range of 3-4 stops. So it appears that Sunny 16 rules in any event.

Here I am, almost 52 years old, and I've just invested a certain sum of money on a LunaPro (which is almost as big as my range-finder). And a 22 year old kid (who takes great photos) tells me he's using the sunny 16 rule !!!
I'm going to have to work a lot harder!
Bonne continuation!
Pitxu.
