Enjoy Life.
Well I broke out my Dad's IIIG, which I haven't had the heart to shoot since his death in '96. I grabbed a quick roll of Walgreens 200 and shot during a quick trip to the coast last week.
Crummy drug store scans (too lazy to fire up the Coolscan) but I must say I had a great time with the camera. I actually grew up shooting a IIIC & this G and it is just such a great small platform. Yes, I prefer my M's for most things but it's a really neat feeling just cruising around with such a small and capable camera.
It needs a little cleaning but I guarantee you it will be seeing some use on occasion now.

mine arrived today... a IIIf. Let's see if I got lucky and can shoot with it without first having to send it off Youxin for a CLA. So far, so good.

thanks everyone! wow, that rangefinder window magnification is really superb for someone whose eyesight isn't. the camera really is a little jewel. all the shutter speeds sound good. my first roll will tell whether my ear is as "good" as my eyesight. the Tewe finder looks cool, but I think the diminutive size of the camera is spoiled so I may go sans vf when using my Summaron to keep this baby nicely pocketable.

Mine worked fine until it got cold outside last year; slow speeds got slower. I shipped it to Youxin on a Monday and got it back all spiffy Saturday morning, in time to shoot that day. (I don't want to mess with your expectations or Youxin's varying schedule, but it was a great surprise.) I really like the IIIc model.

Youxin did a 24-hour turnaround on my M2 at about this time last year. Of course, he wasn't dealing with post China trip backlog then as he is now, but he is amazingly fast. I get slower in the cold weather, too.

Time for a thread bump.
Youxin has not been back for long but he's already turning things faster than anyone else.
And some eye candy: 1940 IIIc (red curtain) with adapted CZO 50/1.5. Youxin refurbed this one not long ago.
