Today I've developped an Ilford HP5+ exposed at 800ASA. Using Rodinal 1/100 and 1h30m as development time (agitation first minute and 4 inversions after 15min and after 1hour). I'm happy with the results but I would like and impartial opinion:

Here's another with a corresponding cropped section. I am a complete novice at scanning so take that for what it's worth. The negatives all look a little dense but with a fair range of tones. At some point I'll try making a wet print.

Nice, very nice... sorry I didn't see your reply before. I'm not sure (nor an expert) but I think your scans are grainier due to the resolution. I like very much the tonal range. I'm going to do a test shooting half roll 400ASA and half roll 800ASA just to try... If developper is near exaution during development highlits will blown later... dunno... I'm chemist, I like experiments...

No, agitation is fine. Repeat after me: Do not agitate too much, especially with Rodinal.

With "standard" (non-stand) development, I agitate 3 very gentle inversions every 3 minutes. Even that may be excessive. 😀
