Where were these taken Gil, Laguna?
I’ve always wanted to go to Pampanga to see the people getting nailed to the cross’s but the stinking heat and crowds put me off.
I like the 4th one with the “Skintastic“ sign on the shop

Hi Mike, we just came from Angeles city for an overnight stay at Clark when I chanced upon this. The crucifixion is also in Pampanga (Cutud) but it's like desert there. No trees, very dusty, corwded, hot and humid. I was there many years ago not a good place to go when you're with your family.

How was it? I heard there are more foreign tourists than participants and locals.

For designated places there are many tourists. This one was in a small local community so nothing much except locals. I just chanced upon them walking down the main road and went to a small alley road. I jumped out from my car and followed them. Good thing my wife is with me, she took over the wheels.

I could see from the first pictures that you were either skilled at hiding the tourists or this was more local than what I've heard about. Very cool shots. Great luck on finding this!

Personally I avoid the touristy places here, not so nice. If you ever want to come here Gil, I or many other’s could set up to see the real country.
Here in a town of 70 thousand or so (San Miguel, Bulacan), I’m the only foreigner.

I shot the 1st batch with the M8.2 and was shocked seeing the shots were all blue as I've left the white balance in "daylight" mode. Luckily I was shooting raw and was able to salvage easily. I was actually quite close to the subjects and my shirt was splattered with bits of blood. Thanks!

Yeah Mike maybe some time I can go there. Btw, when are you going back to Japan? Hope the after shocks will stop soon.

A week on Tuesday Gil, Yokohama!
I’m spending more time in Manila now as our son’s at school there, though I prefer to be in the province. It’s nice when it’s school holiday’s
I shot 8 roll’s this afternoon with the parades, no flagellants here though, I think that’s due to the local priest’s not allowing it because in other towns in Bulacan you will see them.
