I am thinking of buying an Bessa R2 camera and want to find a good 35mm lens for it... unfortunately I am not in the position of investing in leica lenses (sigh)... one of my concerns is that the voigtlander lenses have some problems with flare which would be an issue for me considering the fact that I often shoot with light sources in or close to the frame... does anybody have any recommendations or experience with other lenses e.g. jupiter ?
thank you...

Johan

You might refer to the flaring mention for the Ultron sometimes ? I do not think the Ultron is worse than, say, the Biogon or v4 Summicron 35/2.

In any case: the CV Color Skopar lenses are highly flare resistant. You can even safely shoot into the sun with them.

What Roland said! I was just going to post some examples, but for some reason I don’t seem to be able to insert an image into the post????????

Johan, the Jupiter 12 (I have a good one) will not work with a Bessa R2. The lens has a protruding rear element, and the camera has an auxiliary shutter in front of the main one. A CV 35/2.5 would suit you admirably.

this is as bad as it gets, hazy day sun at the edge of the frame and you get a star shaped flare.
