Maybe I just missed it, but are there different flashes available for the S3 2000 or is it a case of using the original flash?

TIA,

Not that I would ever use flash on mine, but IIRC the S3 2000 has a standard PC sync terminal like the original S3, so you can use any flash, vintage or modern, that can connect to a PC terminal.

Furcafe and Fred:

Thanks for the response! Kinda looking forward to doing some flash work using my SB24! But, also, the BC-5 is reasonably priced on o-boy so, Fred, that really could be fun in a retro kinda way....but what else would ya expect from someone who drives a 51 MGTD around the North Georgia mountains? LOL....

Thanks again...this is why I appreciate this website. All of your collective knowledge is invaluable and you guys are definitely appreciated!

TIA,
Dave,

Here's the setup I use on my Nikon RFs. The adapter cost me about 1,100 yen (not even $10). I pop the adapter into the accessory shoe on the camera, then plug the adapter's synch cord into the camera's PC synch terminal, and then slot my Nikon SB-30 flash into the adapter. Then I just set the flash using the manual settings. Piece of cake ;)

Jon, that is a cool adaptor! Where would such a thing be availble?

Or you can get them at most camera stores. I got mine at Wolf (Ritz) in Atlanta. About $12.00.

Cheers,
Paul

Sunpak flashes come with their own sync cord, so you don't even need an adapter.

But you will probably have to put a piece of electrical tape on the accessory shoe to keep the flash from shorting.
