I know using flash is bad idea, but sometimes we need fill flash. One like TLA-200 for Contax G2.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Why is using flash a bad idea? Sometimes you need fill-in to balance the exposure. I've been using a Mecablitz 34 CS-2 with the Bessas - its expensive, but very powerful for its compact size, covers out to 24mm with the difuser, and gives three auto apertures. It also has a built-in slave mode (stand included) and is designed to slave to digital compacts, as the slave can be set to ignore the initial flash, being triggered by the second (I haven't put that very well, but digicompacts usually flash at least twice even without red-eye reduction- the first flash sets the white balance, the second is used for the exposure.) Some people don't like the fact that it runs off CR2 batteries, but thats what gives it the power for its size - and my Bronica RF and Pentax SLR both use them, so I've always got spares (if my wife hasn't 'borrowed' them for her Pentax...)

Another vote for the Metz 34 CS-2. It's more expensive than other flash units out there, but it has a few advantages:

--It's small (smaller than the venerable Vivitar 283/285) and light weight, so it won't tip your camera over when it's mounted on the hot shoe.

--It comes with a nice bracket that fits into the tripod socket of the R3A, if you want to use the flash off the hotshoe using the x-synch.

--It's bright and (as has already been mentioned earlier on the thread) has 3 auto f-stop positions, which makes fill flash easier.

One disadvantage that hasn't been mentioned, however, is that the 34 CS-2 doesn't have a head that tilts or swivels for bounce flash (as the Vivitars do). This wasn't a big concern for me, but it's worth keeping in mind.

One like TLA-200 for Contax G2.
This is the one I've been using on my new black Voigtlander Bessa R3A. I just put the switch on "M" for manual. 😎
