This is a slide that I copied in 2009 with a DSLR and an old Pentax slide copier. I was just learning how to do it. As I recall I didn't know what a histogram was then. But this system worked well and I did get better at it.

Newbie
So my new V600 came yesterday and I scanned a few slides at 300 DPI just to prove that everything works.
Question about slide placement: emulsion side up or down? Epson says UP but a random internet person on another photo site says DOWN (even though the images come out backwards) so you are not scanning through the film base. Planning to try both and see if I can tell the difference.
Thoughts?

Well-known
I know my dedicated film scanner recommends emulsion side down, I tested both up and down on my V550 and couldn't see a difference.
