Flickr. Am I the only one who likes it?

the "new flickr" is extremelyy buggy and very slow nowadays, just occasionally i use to check it for samples, but for quality i use other services, i am not even registered any more (sure, i know they keep my file on record, but at least its disabled) as i dont like and agree on their policy and present style.

What bugs are you referring to? Been working fine for me with no issues. The only slowdown I encountered was the first 2 days after the change because the site was flooded by those checking it out..

I've stopped using it. It is far too slow now, and the new group layouts are too cumbersome/ugly.

If it weren't for a couple of groups that I like, the Yahoo Toolbar alone would be enough to make me stop using it. The group layout is definitely too cumbersome but seems to be a little better when the group admin gives a banner photo so that it is easily recognizable.

I have grown used to it over time. But there are features I still do not like. In particular there are now features that require you to delve into the organizer, stats page or other pages to find that previously were more readily available. You no longer get a quick view of activity on your photostream (used to be on the top of the photostream page) for example and you must go to organizer to change the order in which images appear in sets. (Used to be available from the relevant set's page) This kind of stuff is a pain. And if you are accessing the site from a slow broadband pipe forget about it - far too slow. I have also found that even on a fast pipe the slideshow does not function well - the first three or four images display then nothing it just sits there and thinks and thinks and thinks.

Thank goodness the groups were left basically unmolested. Too bad if I fave something from a group it just gets thrown into another photo jumble. Still hoping the flickr staff will be able to tell the proverbial shinola from the other stuff and fix some things.

They took care of that for you in the latest groups update. Now we get the same homogenous wall of photos while using any major facet of the site.

ADHD generation.

I think the iPhone version of Flickr now is great.

But viewing Flickr on a PC or iPad is still a pretty awful experience now. I've tried to get used to it but the new interface keeps getting in the way. Some specifics:

1. Slow to load the tile view. Whether it's my page or someone else's, or a group pool. This is especially true for iPad users like me.

2. I can no longer view favorites of my contacts on an iPad. Flickr crashes every single time when trying to load a favorites page.

3. Commenting on photos is more cumbersome.

4. And I still dislike the absence of control over how photos on my photo stream are displayed. In the old Flickr, there were many options. Now there are no options. It's only the slow loading tile view.

I'm still posting on Flickr but am spending less time there.

I had been away from it for a while and thus it's like I just started with a new site. I like it. I do a lot of posting on Usenet and the picture quality seems to be much better on flicker. A lot of folks are dumping Usenet for Flickr or other web based sharing sites.
