Flickr's latest interface ... win or lose?

I despise the infinite scroll! I have yet to find a computer where it does not bog down on or get hung up. And it takes forever if I want to scroll down to some specific location midway down a page. Scroll down, wait.... wait.... wait.... Oh, went too far! Scroll back up, wait.... wait.... Ooops, that's too far that way! Scroll back down, wait.... wait.... Etc. Horrible!

the best is when you've scrolled down the page for a while and then it kicks you back up the page for no reason.

Interesting opinions here so far.

I keep in the back of my mind that yes it is not perfect ... but it is free!

I quite like the way it presents individual images from my gallery and I'm thankful that the nauseating slideshow seems to have gone?

Slideshow is still there. You have to have the photos in a set, then when in that set, there are three buttons top right. Click the left one, (a rectangle with an arrow in it) you even get the "Ken Burns" effect, weather you want it or not !

The little square boxes is the "also in" button. That shows what sets the photo is in. And you can comment by hitting the three dot menu. It's pretty simple. There may be other ways to comment too... I haven't explored it much.

The "also in" only show a few random sets and groups. There is no way to tell all of the groups or sets a photo is in.

The fact that you can still comment is not the issue, it is the very limited presentation. One used to be able to scan many or all of the comments at once, now only a few or even only part of a long one are visible.

It does not matter how you elect to polish the turd, loss of features is not an improvement.

Reduced functionality is not an improvement

There is no way to see what sets a photo is in.

There is no easy way to see what groups a photo is in besides typing /groups at the end of the URL

There is no longer the ability to put comments on the photo

The only good thing it did was dump the yahoo toolbar at the top

Overall it is a big looser

Ipernity now has the best interface

EXACTLY... its extremely inefficient in use.

To add another problem I mentioned in another thread, there is a problem with tags - if you paste a list of tags, those that are multi-word but in inverted commas still get messed up and separated and some even combined with single word tags

JUST FOUND ANOTHER ISSUE: If your are in the "Recent Activity" view and click on an image someone has commented on or marked as a favourite, then click the upper right cross to close the pane, you are returned to the location of that image in your photo stream and not the Recent Activity page - annoying!

How do you get to the set from the photo since there is only a random chance you may see it?

Why don't they just let us opt out? I've been looking at it for a couple of days, and I just don't like it. I did a lot oif work gettinmg the map data in, and now it doesn't show.

Can't see tags right away, after adding them, they are also broken for auto-fill. Link is without title now. Can't add new line by hitting enter in description.
m0r0ns...

Just spend some time playing with it, like Keith, I quite like it. Once you click on an image, everything is in that little panel on the right hand side. Uploading images to a group is quite nice now too. I think it's quite an improvement over the previous somewhat half hearted effort.

All of a sudden I am thrown back to the previous incarnation. Anybody else experiencing this? No matter, I get used to each and every one they come up with. The latest is not that bad, in fact I rather like the group previews, it spurs me to have a look at the groups I post in, more than previously.
