Focus past infinity?

My apologies if this has already been covered, but I didn't find it in a search. I have an Electro GT that focuses past infinity, i.e. the rangefinder image over shoots the infinity stop on the lens. The infinity adjustment cam won't compensate sufficiently for this. Naturally, none of the distances marked on the lens scale are accurate. I'm missing something, and I hesitate to guess at what it may be.

I'm new to the forum and new to tinkering with old cameras, but I've made a living working on small, electro-mechanical devices.
