I picked up my canon p yesterday and pressed slightly on the front of the viewfinder. The second image is now above the actual image. The focus was fine the day before.
Did i just mess it up? How would i go about fixing this?

Unscrew the chrome ring that surrounds the round, rangefinder window. You’ll now see another ring which you turn that will move the rangefinder image up or down.

At times, setting the vertical alignment will cause the horizontal alignment to be off. You can set that by removing the little screw next to the viewfinder window. Once that’s removed, you’ll see another little screw. Turning that will set the horizontal alignment.

Did you happen to dislodge the front window, Max? If so, you may have bent the frame holder for the beam-splitter. The top would have to come off so you can get inside the rangefinder to realign things (after that, Jim's instructions would apply). This is a worst-case scenario, but I can't think of anything else that would throw the secondary image out of whack that much.
