How is focusing on a Bessa R2A/M with a 35mm lens? Thinking of a backup to my M3, but don't want to give up too much of the focus accuracy i enjoy on the M3.

Let me be the first to reply. With my Color Skopar 35mm on my R2A, I have had no focus issues - easy to focus and the results are sharp to my eyes. But, I generally use it for street photography, landscape and travel and don't usually do available light portraits under less than optimal light. Compared to the M3 - doubt it's as accurate at 3-5 feet wide open.

I have shot an older R2 with a 35 wide open at 1.4 and fairly close - five feet. I didn't see a problem, but I doubt it's as critical as an M3.

Akiva, i have no issues at all focusing my cv 35/2.5 color skopar wide open or stopped down.

the stuff i want in focus, is in focus. i have a nikon "0" corrective eyepiece on mine - thanks to pickett wilson's advice - that clarifies EVERYTHING. it is actually not 0, but +1. bessa and nikon film slr viewfinders come with a -1 view. the 0 eyepiece brings the view to neutral, i guess you'd say. this is perfect for my farsighted right eye.

you're a nikon guy, too, right? ought to be easy for you to zero an R2a/m's viewfinder.
my R2m fits me like it was made for me. it just plain works ...
