Akiva, i have no issues at all focusing my cv 35/2.5 color skopar wide open or stopped down.
the stuff i want in focus, is in focus. i have a nikon "0" corrective eyepiece on mine - thanks to pickett wilson's advice - that clarifies EVERYTHING. it is actually not 0, but +1. bessa and nikon film slr viewfinders come with a -1 view. the 0 eyepiece brings the view to neutral, i guess you'd say. this is perfect for my farsighted right eye.
you're a nikon guy, too, right? ought to be easy for you to zero an R2a/m's viewfinder.
my R2m fits me like it was made for me. it just plain works ...
