Focusing Screen Viewers for Mamiya Press

Does anyone know if you had just a straight or right-angle viewer piece, could you mount it on the regular focusing screen holder? Would you need to take off the cover/shade and could you if you did?

I used to lust after one of the angle or enlarging finders, but never got one due to the cost, so I can't help you. I would suspect you would need to be very careful about distance and alignment. You might want to consider something like this http://www.amazon.com/SE-MH1047L-Il...sr=8-6&keywords=headband+magnifier+with+light which I found by google. I have one I paid about the same amount for from Harbor Freight. I use it for 4x5 viewing and it works well. I haven't had occasion to use it with my Super Press 23, but there is no reason it wouldn't work with that as well.

It doesn't even look that strange since you are under a dark cloth. 😀
