Hi,
I need to clean the viewfinder of my Leica M4-P.
It is "foggy" inside. Is this an easy task to do or should I send the camera to a repair shop?
I know I have to remove the upper part of the body, but I am not sure if this can change the range finder or something.

Thanks!🙂

Thanks for your information Todd. I have looked at the link you provided. It does not look to complicated, but I will probably follow your advice and go to a repair shop.

Again thanks for your help!

My M2 had a mildly foggy/off color viewfinder when I bought it. I sent it to Sherry Krauter for a CLA and when it came back the vf was bright and clear and sharp. I say send it off to someone who knows what they are doing. Save a few buck by trying home denistry.

this must be a M4-P affliction. One of mine had a foggy vf and I know a another local member whose camera has the same. I had mine resolved by a tech. I mentioned to him prior to sending it off and he said that cost of repair depended on whether it was an "inside" fogging or an outside abrasion/cleaning artifact. I *think* that the latter may be more expensive a repair, but I'm not certain. My repair was pretty cheap, but then I used Youxin and he's very reasonably priced anyway. Good luck.
