Foma 400 in D76 1:1

I have tried this film and it is too not bad, HP 5+ and Tri X seems better though,
the recommended 13 minutes in D 76 at 20 deg. C development in D76 1:1 seems a tad to long for this Foma film.
I will give it 11.5 minutes next time , so not to block the highlights.
any recommended dev. time in Rodinal at 1:50 dilution?

the shadows were ok, not as nice as I get with HP 5+ , but I suspect the optimistic 400 ASA rating of this film is actually less than its box rating.
I will shoot some at 200 ASA and give it less time in D76 1:1.
this might be more to my liking.

the above times are off of the "Massive dev chart"

YMMV depending on the usual variables (your agitation techniques, temps, exposure techniques, etc.)

BTW, I've never used Foma.

Hi,

I just tried it in rodinal (1+50). Not as nice as tri-x in rodinal though. The resolution is not as good as tri-x.

Is it possible for you to post a hi-res scan? Just a 100% crop. I am putting the 100% crop I got here. I shot it as 320, in Bessa R. scanned with canon 8400 flatbed, at 2400DPI.

and the grain responded to my scanner close to tri-x in rodinal(1+50). So i really want to know how it looks on your side. Thanks.

Cool, let us know what you get. Honestly I don't think its a bad film at all (of coz, it's not tri-x).
