so, i'm doing a leisurely stroll through ebay and i notice this hood, it looks familiar.
well, it's the same one i have sitting on my lonely canon chrome 35/2.8 lens. it's a perfect fit and has worked well since i got it.
i remember buying it here on rff.
anyway, it has a buy it now price of $139!!
i paid less for the lens it sits on.

The other one has a $1.00 bid. Better scoop it up!
I assume the Canon 35mm 2.8 IS NOT the same one as my little 34mm filter size Canon 35mm 2.8?
Hey, Joe, I got my LTM adapters! Thanks for trying.
Cheers!

Oh good grief! At least we don't have to fight over it. Heavy2stars to the rescue!

I need a lens hood for my Canon 35mm/2.8 and the Canon 28mm/3.5, even though the front lens element looks recessed.

Recently I've visited a few old camera stores (the few still remaining in Tucson) and almost always they have a large box of bits and pieces - usually marked "Anything in this box for $2.00." Inevitably I've found a lens hood. Sometimes not quite the right size, but then more fishing about and one comes up with some adapter rings and voila!.
Got one for my Rolleiflex 2.8 that way. So what if it's polished aluminum and says Canon on it. Who cares? Well, you will, after you find out what genuine Rollei lens hoods cost. Sobering experience, that.

Ted,
If a polished Canon lens hood looks bad to you, just place it in an enevelope and mail it to me!

My error. I didn't mean to imply that I didn't like the lens hood. I believe ANY lens hood is better than no lens hood at all.
Actually, it looks very professional on the Rollei. Because it is round, rather than somewhat rectangular like the Rollei hood, I feared it might vignette the viewing lens. But it doesn't. I'll see if I can find some more for you chaps next trip to Tucson (100 miles away).

Ted, Rollei TLR hoods are square with rounded corners.

Of course, you are absolutely right. Been so long since I've seen one my description went awry.

Forget about a hood on the Canon 28/3.5. Their instructions are "use none". Indeed, just the 34mm->Series VI adapter causes vignetting, so I can't even use my Series VI filters on it.
