I'll bet some of you non-guinea pigs are reading this, aren't you? Umm hum. Just call me Karnak. Well, that is okay. This is one of those things that may not be common knowledge, so I thought I'd pass it along. Who knows? It could be the one thing that keeps you from being voted off the island someday or gets you enough phone calls to be the new American Idol.

The Secret

The backing paper on the double sided adhesive is slick and can not be written or drawn upon...not even with a Sharpie. This is a challenge if you are tracing the pattern of something. To remedy this, simply scuff the back with sandpaper...220 grit is fine. Or 221 if you don't have 220. Then, you will find a common pencil will mark on it very well.

Jon,

Um, why do I want to write on it again? Oh man. I'm listening to CUBA LIBRE! on the MP3 player! I love lounge music.

Hork! A darking bog!

Bill

Batches? We don' need no stinkin batches, man! Har de har har. Couldn't resist.

It probably wouldn't cost that much. But my laser is in the shop. I think it needs a new flux capacitor.

Jon

LOL, ok you got me there. Flux Capacitor... You're kiddin right?... John... ?

Seriously, I have been considering a laser cutting service for a couple of ideas I have. I figured if LOMO could sell a diaper bag for 56 dollars and call it fashion, I could come up with something myself.

Anyway, I will try out the sanding solution, and without. I have lots of different graphic pens and pecils of various makes.

Also, would you like feedback on tackiness?

Bill,
Send more Cuba Libre's, preferably with dark rum - Esugre' !!!!

Yeah, okay. You got me. It isn't a flux capacitor. I could fix that myself with a screwdriver, a bobby pin and a medium sized rock. I think it needs a full hectopodomy.

Which tackiness were you going to comment on? The adhesive or me? The adhesive should be good. Me, on the other hand...I don't know. Gong Show reject?
Jon

There is indeed a duller side... (of the paper... not John)
Score so far- of the different pen or pencil types

Schwann Stabilo (graphite color)- writes both sides, much darker on the duller side no need to wait on drying. Smears.

Gel style ball point pen (Staples brand) - dull side only, still isn't dry. Smears.

Faber Castell PITT Artist Pen- writes on the dull side, dries immediately does not smear. This one comes in a set of thick to very fine (like a rapidograph)

Flux capacitors... yeah... I knew he was kidding, next thing you know he'll start talking about interocetors.

Wow! An inspiration. A socially beneficial inspiration that might net me enough to buy that 1975 Dodge Duster I've had my eye on down at the "Goss on Ross" car lot.

Think "Drink" (or beer, it really doesn't matter). Now, think "MY drink." Imagine you're at a party. What happens when you set your drink down? That's right. You aren't sure which one it is now. Is it near the fried pork skins? Or is is over by those deviled ham finger sandwiches? Hmmm. Now you're starting to worry about cooties and all sorts of things.

Well, not to fear. Peel one side of the release paper off and stick a piece of Jon's "Party Magic" to your palm. Go ahead and stick a piece to your other palm, too. Now peel the other release papers off and grab your drink with one hand. Grab that sucker like you mean it. There you go. Won't get separated from it now.

Also, MADD will love you (and me, I might add). Why? Well, after two drinks, you won't drive home, will you? No sirree. How are you going to get your car keys out of your pocket with two glasses (cans) stuck to your palms?

When I get that Duster, I'm going to be stylin' and profilin'.
Jon

While John is Stylin' in his duster i will be worrying about cooties from deviled ham finger sandwiches.

John, would those be with or without pickles?

With pickles. And by the way, does anybody here know the Pickle Secret? I mean, do you know how to tell if you are eating real pickles or pretend pickles?
