This little fellow was the only one in the village when we entered it sometime in December of 1969:
Across a series of rice paddies, we could see several women, old men and children looking at us. We left the village by a different route. Such was South Vietnam. Photo taken with a Leica M-2R

BG Herbert E. Wollf and a wounded trooper, January 1970:

General Wolff was a "mustang" in WWII and, after 37 years in service, he retired as a major general. He was a fine man and I was fortunate to call him a friend.
