Makorokoro, the dugout canoes... The Delta is amazing, incomparable. I lived in Botswana 1990-92, had three amazing journeys there, once in makorokoro and camping... Back then the road to Maun was still a dirt track and very difficult. Go siame, tsamaya sentle rra!

Yes, we went a long way up and camped. It was, and is lovely. The road from Maun was pretty civilised by 2009 but some of the worst main hgihways in Africa are the British made ones in Botswana that haven’t been maintained since the colonial administration left. This is on the road out of Maun.
Nikon FE, 24mm f2.8 Nikkor. I'd have to dig out the exposure data but it was probably f11 and AV mode. This is one of a few that I was able to get the exposure decent. Lots of darks that were full of noise. Scanned neg on a V600.
This doesn't look like Sweden, but the food place name "Kalle på spången" seems rather Swedish... 🙂
