greetings and welcome to the rangefinder forum.

it truly is wonderful to see so many people joining our community.
we have a short but rich history where humour and respect for each other have been the keys to success.

i want to make a suggestion, when you are posting your photos to the gallery, please take the time to note what camera/lens/film combination you used to make that photo.
the membership had a long discussion awhile back and found that many of us look as forward to the info about the photo as we do the photos themselves.

and also, when posting please do not post a dozen or more pics at a time, it leaves us little opportunity to see all the new postings and to make comments on them.
some people and their pics gets pushed along and the pics are not viewed.

there are (so far) no hard rules about posting pics and your cooperation will ensure that none will be needed.

many thanks,
joe
your faithful moderator

Joe, I uploaded a few photos Saturday, then some on Sunday. Sometime between, the fields for entering "camera," "film," etc disappeared. I just entered the info under "description" on the second batch.

Hi Ray,

Did you upload to your named galleries or the main member gallery? IIRC, in order to have the fields for camera, film, etc., you have to upload to the main, or member, gallery, not your individual galleries (the ones you've created). This appears to be a "feature" of this gallery. I think it was the same way in the other version (not the last gallery, the one before that). I uploaded early last week and the fields were all there (when using the Member Gallery). 🙂

Ah, that may well have been the case. The first batch was to the member gallery. I then created a new gallery for my pics from Chicago and transferred them there. The second batch was directly to the new gallery.

This must still be the case, I've just uploaded another 3 and wasn't offered the service. I'll have to look at what the main & member galleries are about.

Wow, its amazing to see that last nights uploads are all blown away by one individual. I am as enthusiastic as the next person, but this kind of takes the cake.

One thing I noticed in the past- when I form a new gallery from images I have reorganized from earlier uploads, it will show them as recently uploaded images. Perhaps this is possibly what happened.

Dont just comment on the new photos, enjoy the random photos displayed on the front page and comment on whatever interestes you.

Hi- I really do look at both new and old photos. It is particularly nice to see what other are doing currently. In some cases you see members work evolve. Sometimes the changes reflect current discussion on the forum.

When one member hogs the latest uploads, I feel cheated.

I'm new to this very cool forum, so 'Hi all'!

I seem to be having a problem with the Member Galleries. I like to have the thumbnails ordered by 'Newest First' but when I click to the next page of thumbnails the ordering has switched back to 'Alphebetical'.
Is there any way to set a permanent 'Newest First' ordering preference without having to switch it every time I go to a new page?

Thanks folks!

Andy.

I'm headed for Spokane and Seattle tomorrow. I've got about 15 rolls of color and 5 black and white. When I get back in a couple of weeks I'm gonna scan and post every single frame, including the ones that have my shadow in the foreground. Be prepared🙂
