Four new photos with my old Nettar

Beautiful images, like Robin, my favorite is the last B&W one, just delicious details and MF goodness.

I have a similar triplet lens, the Agnar, it also produces lower contrast, but full of details pictures.

love the architecture/buildings you have there-outstanding! the one with the boats, the building looks kinda like it was carved out of the cliff face. ..whats that bloke doing haha- daft bugger doesn't he know its a picture for boats and buildings hehe

How are you able to post the pictures so big? What scanner are you using and are you using any special film holder to get the film flatter on the scanner bed?

I use an Epson v500 scanner with the standard 6x6 holder, and standard software, but the first two colour photos are made with my old scanner, an Epson 3170, that I changed a few months ago ( problems with the sensor ).

I usually scan images in tif, then convert them in jpeg for the web: the more you compress, the bigger the photo can be ...

It's an idroelectric power unit, buit in the first year of 1900: it is still in use, and produce 10.5 MW. The strange style of the building is due to the will to have a low impact on the landscape (there is also an old castle on the hill on the back of the central). The outside of the walls are covered with rocks from the river, just to have a "less strong" look: it's great a lesson for contemporary architects, I think...

If you can understand a bit of Italian, here there is a link with some informations

Glad I waited to see these photos at home rather than at work on the lcd monitor. They are really nice. I think I prefer the last of both series, but they all look better on a crt than the lcd at work.

I have a Zeiss Ikon 6x9 with a Novar lens, that I like. It gives a really big negative when you want that, and is is very thin and light to carry.

Just thought would add a photo from my Zeiss Ikon also.

er um so you guys will eat pretty much anything eh, even roasted Nats!

they must be popular to have roadside stalls hey :D:D

You have us figured out pretty well, eh Chippy? :D :D

This was actually taken at a local Farmer's Market. I sometimes enjoy going there to photograph. It isn't roadside, but a large commuter parking lot. For those of you don't have those where you live, they are parking lots where people park and then all go in one car, a van, or buses that take people to common work places. Generally in my area that means the Pentagon (to work of catch the metro) or somewhere in Washington, DC.

sounds like a good idea oftheherd, save fuel and less cars on the road ect

its a bit better than the system we have, we all gather and park our cars at the Pub, but after a few pints we all drive our own cars from there. its like playing dodgem on the roads haha

The way our commutes go, they couldn't be any worse if everyone had a few pints. Might even be better, they would be mellowed out some. :D

excellent images.
My super ikonta 6x6 is also equipped with a novar anastigmat. The 75mm version. It's a surprisingly good lens, just don't look for the sharpness in the corners, and it will be fine.

I may have a Nettar somewhere here.
The photos are just awesome. Excellent work by the photographer [using a Nettar].

edit: I found my Nettar. It also has a Novar lens on it.

I found in Internet a data-sheet with all the Nettar models divided by name and year of production, based on the shutter and lens type. From that sheet I know that my camera was produced in 1949, and is called Nettar IIb or "Signal" Nettar from the sistem used to avoid the double exposures. Every camera model is identified also by a number on the body.

Did you post a link and I miss it? Sure would like to see it.
