Hi! Anybody here use a Zeiss Ikon (Germany) 426 finder? I am trying to figure out the 3 frame lines provided by the finder. The frame lines space out quite evenly so I thought is 35/50/80 but recently when compared to my Voigtlander 25mm finder looks like the frames are 28/50/80.

The Zeiss Compendium by Charles and Marc did mention about the finder but did not elaborate on the frame lines.

I think the frame lines in the 426 are 30, 45, & 75mm. IIRC, the 426 was made for the Contina III.

Ha ha! Now it makes sense to me. Never thought of 30/45/75 combination. I was very confused when comparing the frame lines with 28, 35 and 50mm lenses on my RTS III. Was wondering why the frame lines were neither here nor there.

As in the 427, the full view outside the brightlines can be used as a 21mmm finder. Some disagree, but it works for me

Agreed. The full view of the 426 outside the brightlines is approximately 21mm.

Has anybody a Zeiss 426 finder seen for a reasonable price?
The guys in the evilbay allways think it is something for the contax and call for prices around 200,- $ but it´s only used on the Contina III and I don´t pay that much for a 50,-$ camera.

I know there are the classifieds - but nothing like that disapeared there!
