Frameline Preview Problem

For whatever reason, my frameline preview lever works intermittently. More often doesn't work than does.

Any quick fixes for this?

I had a problem with my MP framelines and have had them repaired by Gerry Smith at Kindermann who also did some lubing and adjusted high speeds. The frameline masks were sticking due to oily contamination. I sent it to New Jersey Leica in '06 for a shutter lube and perhaps they got carried away. In any case here is link to the thread at that time. The whole repair and partial CLA came to $300. Good luck.

Patrick, apart from "working" the lever, toggling it manually many times and hoping that the mechanism "un-sticks" itself, there is nothing you as a user can do.
Since you are located in the US, sending it to Youxin Ye for a fix could be a quick and not too costly solution.

I ave the same issue on my M6TTL - the lever doesn't change the select, nor does putting a 50mm lens on - however I can get the 50mm lines up n to stay by holding the lever in the 50mm position and jiggling the focus cam until it slowly slides in.

It'll do for now...
