Once again, thanks very much indeed. Frances is deeply touched by the fact that she has had good wishes from (at a rough count) 18 countries and 20 states of the Union.

Your kindness and prayers (and candles) seem to be working. She is significantly better today, because the fever broke last night. I was with her for 5 hours today and we took two short walks around the hospital, towing her 3-legged friend with the drips on it.

We hope she'll be out on Tuesday or Wednesday. Here's how she looked today (M8.2, very ratty Summitar with balsam separation and fungus at f/2, ISO 1250). Probably too small/soft to see that she still has the oxygen thing up her nose.

Well, film would have taken too long...

Drat! Can't seem to get the attachment to work. As it's one in the morning I'm off to bed shortly.

Further Edit: OK so it's now ten to two but I love her very much so I hope the attachment worked.

Third Edit: Next to some of the probems that some people face -- such as the breast cancer Frances had in 2000 -- we know that bronchitis is pretty trivial. Which makes us both all the more grateful for the kind thoughts of those who are facing worse things. We both wish our well-wishers the very best too.

Love,

Roger (+ Frances)

I know you are very relieved, as are the rest of us.

That is the "out of the woods" event, and she is on the road to recovery. Getting her into the hospital was definitely the right thing to do.

Great news, Roger! I'm glad things have turned positive. As I said earlier, you need to take it easy as well. When we reach a certain point in life we don't bounce back like we used to. I went through a similar issue with my wife of 35 years and definitely empathize with what you've gone through. :<)

Excellent news, Roger.

Excellent news, Roger.

Happy news about Frances, she is already much better and with much rest will be fine. Especially good news on this glorious Easter morning.

This is good news, Roger. I missed the original thread, but after seeing this I went back and found it; I have to add my best wishes and prayers for a speedy and complete recovery!
