I enjoyed watching this:
https://youtu.be/fAqpj-8eJYY
A young woman who has used a Canon AE1 and is very new to film is given her grandfather's Leicas. And, I think, will put them to good use.
Best part of the 17 minute video is right at the end, I think.
Before all us old farts get too snarky about this, she is now where we all once were. A bit more fortunate for certain--in my own case I have my grandfather's camera but he used an Argus.

It was nice to see a IIIa and screw mount lenses juxtaposed with the SLR gear.

Not me! But cute and entertaining video from a very rookie perspective. She also takes a nice snap, and her Grandpa’s reaction at the end is very sweet.

All my grandfather had was a Polaroid and he didn't even leave it to me

I got my grandmother's Kodak box camera. Even ran a roll of 620 (120 re-rolled) through it. But that was before I even owned a digital camera.
I was happy to see the girls reaction to receiving her grandpa's gear, and even happier to find out he was still alive to see how she did with it. My relatives that I inherited cameras from had already passed away, and I missed out on seeing their reaction to new photos being taken with their old gear.

Apparently my grandfather was quite the photographer back in the day. He had a Rolleiflex. I found out it was gifted to my cousin who immediately sold it.
Got my fathers plastic Instamatic instead..

That's quite a haul she got. Wow.
My grandfather had a Pentax Spotmatic, which fortunately went to a cousin who is an avid hobbyist photographer. I have my Dad's Pentax ME and Minolta SR-T, which are wonderful and beautiful cameras.

I got my Dad's SX70 and I still haven't tried out the pack of Imposs Project B&W in it..
He had a Leica M3 w Lux 50 1.4, but that camera somehow went missing. The memories of that camera did make me play with an M-E at the shop, and then the bug bit again.
Of course came full circle, bought an M3 for my very own and now use film more than digital.
