Free Scanning Software?

I have photoshop and I scan my negatives from there. It doesn't give me as much control as say vuescan or silverfast, but it's free.

Maybe I should just pony up the $35 for the vuescan, but before I do, Is there any software out there that's free?

if you have an epson the software is free, otherwise, I don't know

Yes, which scanner do you have? I have Epson and i am using Epson Scan software which is free, also i paid for lifetime pro version of Vuescan which is not much and now i have option to choose one of 3 softwares, but i am impressed with Epson Scan so far, not always getting amazing results, but when it happens i am all happy.

I'm importing the image from photoshop. So it goes out to the scanner and scans all the work. It's working for me, but I think, i'll eventually end up getting vuescan.
