Came home to a thawed chest freezer. 200 sheets of 8x10, 10 boxes of 50 sheets of 11x14 Multigrade FB, 10 boxes 50 sheets 11x14 Arista FB all soggy. Many rolls of 100 foot Tri-X in soggy boxes. Thankfully the way Kodak packages their long rolls (taped metal canisters), I think the rolls are OK. The 5x7 boxes of film have to dry out before I can see whether the internal packaging saved the film.

Arg.

I'm buying stock in Zip-Lock. I'll give things a couple of days to dry out. The unopened 5x7 film might be ok, depending on how the internal packaging is. Kodak uses a paper/foil combination. We will see.

That really sucks. Hope you get to save it all. The 100' rolls of film will almost certainly be OK, the boxed film probably. Even the paper may be savable. I do like the idea above about putting it out on your porch to dry. That might help.
