Today a new new limited production Voigtlander Bessa arrived, mounting a
limited production new lens. They will be sold as a set. Total world
wide production 650. Cosmetically it's a very nice looking camera, an
improvement on the original. The lens is special too. I predict it to
be prized by both shooters and collectors alike.

The page announcing it will be up next week, deliveries will likely
start towards the end of April.

1st person to guess both the body and the lens correctly gets a free
body cap !
OK, so I am cheap. I admit it. all right, TWO body caps !

How about a special edition of the R2? They have done it with the Bessa L, R and T maybe they want a special edition of R2 and a new lens that goes with it.

Considering how close we are to the original release of the new R3a/R2a, I would doubt they've undertaken anything too dramatic for a 650-unit production run.

My guess is some sort of commemorative version of the R3a and the Nokton 40. Maybe a different color, maybe a few zippy logos, but all in all, nothing earth shaking.

It's a very good thing that I read that comment one half-second after swallowing a sip of coffee... or the monitor & keyboard wouldn't look too pretty right now....

But I think, for THAT occasion they may not go the cheap route....

How about a gold-plated camera with inscription-
"Voigtlander, Since 1756; Leica, R.I.P. 2005"

Ah, well. Still waitin' for that Contax/LSM-M adapter. I'd sure buy an M mount camera of SOME flavor, if that were to happen.
