It was rumored a while ago that they Heliar would be back in rigid barrel with an s mount.

$1,000 I bet like the 101 T.

I already have some lens mounts in transit JD :) Hoping also that the adapter will come true, the Canon P and the Zeiss Opton 1.5 are already becoming good friends even with the obvious language restrictions... :D

I thought it'd be a titanium body with the super fast 40mm lens in grey.

Rover... how is it you only break news in your signature? What's cooking? Where did you get it from? When is it arriving? Are your palms sweaty?

C'mon! Spill da beans!!

You know I mean well... ;)

Yes, Stephen Gandy stated, "R2S with black paint front plate, 50/3.5 internal mount rigid Heliar".

Oh, I called Tamarkin Friday and it is on the way. Monday or Tuesday I should get my Collapsable Summicron, M6 TTL, 2 books from Camerabooks.com, the Nikon Rangefinder book I won on Ebay and hopefully the transfer from paypal into my bank account.

M6TTL, chrome, .72, Mint - with 100% satisfaction garauntee and 90 day warrenty. They are the big guys in NY, but said a few times, "We want you to have the right camera so you have a warrenty and no ? return policy." It is a nice piece of mind, and they were good to deal with.

Congratulations rover!! I have dealt with Tamarkin - excellent people - I returned a lens within the trial period and my charge card was credited very quickly. :)

What'd ya get Rover?

And that internal mount Heliar is INTERESTING, even if in the "wrong side" of the Contax mount.

Still want that C-M adapter, though...

Rover, congrats. We will still enjoy seeing your "C&C" shot. I am soooo glad for ya. My wish before I die is to have a Leica a-la-carte.....Something to live for....unless, Leica doesn't go under, of course.

got a look at the r2s and heliar. the black paint frontplate and rigid heliar are actually pretty neat. it would be at home on a sci-fi flick! the barrel of the heliar is a black cone, contrasting with the chrome mount and aperture ring. exquisitely crafted, smooth as silk. *slobber*pant*gasp* ok, enough of that.

Congratulations, Rover! That camera of yours... might it be related to my own silver chrome? They may be cousins, you know?

Good to hear good news again! :)
