Ok, so lets settle this... to keep everyone happy I think a month (or so) to shoot is long enough for us with busy lifestyles, yet short enough to stay focused.
So lets say competition starts on monday 9th May..... finishes June 15th. Voting starts June 16th till June 30th. Winner announced July 1st. Prize- i'm still waiting for someone to offer up their early Zorki 1
Themes: How about keeping it sweet and simple, but flexible..? 3 themes with a maximum number of 3 images for each theme....? They can be colour or mono, but in my opinion must be shot using a FSU body & lens....
Theme 1. Landscape (natural or urban). Something everyone can have a go at...
Theme 2. Transport. Something we do invariably evrey day so plenty of photo ops....
Theme 3. Abstract. Open to interpretation- anything slightly experimental or arty.
Lets iron this out over the weekend so we can get shooting next week....

The best camera is one that still works!
I like landscape and abstract or experimental/arty but not so keen on transport for some reason.
Portraits ... traditional or environmental would be good IMO.
Three themes is good with a maximum of three submissions in each catagory works for me ... it all sounds great to me!

I'm with Keith on this. Even though I'm in the transport business & do shoot my share of trains, automobiles & trucks, portraits would be cool. Besides it's my biggest weakness to do. I hope to do more of it.

What about that "struggle to victory"? Could it be under "abstract"?

Cool, we're getting some consensus here
f you opt for the "other" option, please post the theme (eg. portrait) you would prefer. This poll only last 3 days, so at the end of that time whatever themes come up trumps, win.
As far as a prize goes, unless someone is prepared to be super generous
, the prize will be "kudos"
Regarding the gallery, I assume that it has to be set up by the administration... That can be set up to go live say on 1st June- so entries can be up loaded for a two week period, and voting for two weeks also. Does this sound logical?
Also as far as the voting process goes, 1 vote per member per theme? Does this suit?

Abstract would be great, 'cause then it would be following the work of Rodchenko in a way, which would be fitting, given that these are FSUs.

I agree with the voting procedure too, so let's rock!

I agree with the use of portraits over transport, but really, I'm fine with either.

I voted for transport, which to me can be anything from trains to cars to Harley Davidsons to skateboards. It could be fun, with my Fed-2 and a little creativity on my part. The other categories are fine, too, though. No matter what, let's get those FSU cameras out there!

Will there be a prize for the most creative light leak?

Are there going to be prizes? I'm sure we don't actually need any but it might be fun to consider.
I'm just hoping any light leaks in the FED 2 are suitably artistic.

Hear, hear!
I'm already looking forward to the entries and great pics that will come from this.

The best camera is one that still works!
And don't forget the award for the most uneven but still usable Kiev frame spacing!
