Just a quick question to Russian RFF members or other members having been to Russia:

How is the price and availability of FSU RF cameras in Moscow (and other Russian cities, also compared to Ukraine if possible) compared to what we see on ebay? Also, is it easy to find people still doing maintenance work locally and for a reasonable price?

Thank you for your feedback!

Depends on the context and how much time you have. Price and availability are generally better than ebay, but may be difficult to track down. If you're in Moscow for longer, you'll definitely be able to find something. The local ebay/craigslist avito has huge numbers of Soviet cameras available cheap, but obviously language is an issue.

If someone is in Moscow this place is central and has second hand and usually a half-decent selection of soviet semi-collectibles. Prices are higher than e.g. finding one in a junk shop, but usually seem to work. Most other 'serious' photo shops don't bother with the low-end Soviet cameras.

Yes, there are still some decent repair places - finding and getting there may not be easy, plus language issues. I wouldn't bother for a short trip in Moscow.
