Has anyone noticed the external flash kit being offered now as an accessory for the X100? Seems like a lot of money for what to my eyes looks like the Sunpak RD2000 http://www.sunpak.jp/english/products/rd2000/index.html but at twice the price

Having seen the Fuji flash, yes, it looks a LOT like that Sunpak! But what's the pin configuration on the Nikon hotshoe / foot? Did they have to re-engineer it for this camera, because the others won't work with the Fuji? (The footprint is definitely different from the Canon flashes I have.)

Many thanks for your e-mail as of 11. April 2011.
Unfortunately the mentioned digital-camera Fuji FinePix X100 couldn't be checked by our development department till now. However, this camera is equipped with a new flash system and different contacts comparable to other camera brands. Therefore our flash units can't be used with this camera at TTL-flash-mode. At the moment we also don't plan a special version of the dedicated flash units of our current product range for this camera.
We regret that we are unable to give you an other reply and remain
with best regards

I got my EF-20 flash today, I'll do some photo tests if anyone can think of something that'll do the job?
One annoying this is having to turn external flashes on in the menu system. Why fuji why!

Since I'm not planning on using flash for anything but fill-flash, I purchased the Metz 20 C-2 and saved my money. The main limit here is being bound by ISO dependent apertures and only having two to select from.
