anyone using the little ef-20 flash on the x100?

wondering what people think about them?

i don't have a big need for flash but i am thinking about getting one of these...would have to track one down...

I've played with one in the store I work at a little bit, but that's it. Seems to work OK, I definitely like the lower less obtrusive profile, and that I still get bounce in such a small flash. I could see myself using it occasionally (if I owned an X100), but doubt I would ever get the bigger flash.

I keep mine mounted on the X100 most of the time. I use it mostly as a fill-flash, with it dialed down a bit. I purchased a small Metz to use on the X100, but the EF-20 with TTL is far more functional, especially with Auto-ISO active. Also works with bounce flash within the limits of power and tilt bounce only. Well worth the money.

EF-20 Fill Flash EI: 1600 Raw/Aperture/Noise Ninja

I use an EF-20 tethered to the X100 using a Canon OC-E3 TTL cable. This gives me the freedom to have a more three-dimensional illumination. Using the Flash in TTL mode while setting the camera to slightly underexpose ambient light can yield some very natural pictures that wouldn't be possible w/o flash.

I'll post example pictures when I'll have processed my last batch of party pictures.

PS: If I need fill, I mostly use the built-in flash. The integrated flash hardly produces any shadows as it is so close to the camera's optical axis. That's a good thing for fill-flash, but very annoying for exclusively flash-lit images.
