I just received my GA645Zi on its two week trial today. Is there a dedicated cable release that I need to get for this camera? I have a generic one, but the prong is too long and wont allow for me to screw it in.
I have some other questions about the camera but I will post them in a separate thread.
Thanks!

I don't know the answer to your question, but great camera. I love mine. Lots of bang for the buck and the size.

I guess that instead of a cable release I could simply use the timer for static subjects.

Some cable releases are designed for 4x5 cameras where there is a much longer throw to trip the shutter release mechanism. You might be able to get a shorter cable release for your camera which would work better. Do you have another release you could try out?

I do have a Mamiya cable release which fits and it did work just now when I tried it out. Thanks for the suggestion.

so where does the cable release plug in?????

I also have a newly acquired GA645Zi. Post in this thread suggest you can use a cable release with it, but I can't work out where it would actually connect. Not mentioned in the manual, and the shutter release button is just a flat dome. Bit confused, as a cable release is a pretty basic requirement IMHO.

Look just behind the right strap lug. That little screw hole is the cable release socket.
