Which are you more excited about, the GF670W or X100 and do you think the GF670W will be more, less or similar price to the X100 ?

Film is cheap therapy!
I am inclined to like both. But if I had the money for only one; I would wait until the user reviews of the X100 came out first. If the X100 turns out to be an Edsel, I'll get the GF670. All bets are off if Fuji makes a GF690 however, then that's where my money will go.

Oddly, I am inclined to buy an X100 even though it's effectively disposable technology (ie I won't be using it in 40 years time), yet am disinclined to buy the 670 as for me it's not durable enough (it's not a Leica M).

I'd guess that the film camera will cost 50-100% more than the digi, but until I've seen and handled working examples of both I can't get that excited about either.

Well, first of all the GF670w will be about double the price of X100.
Secondly - as interesting as the GF670w is I would probably not swap it for my Mamiya 6 (which I got recently).
Technically the GF670w brings nothing new while the X100 does so there is somewhat more curiosity from my side. But on the other hand I am 95% confident that what the GF670w is supposed to do, it will do it well. Whether the same can be said about the X100 is yet to be seen. But I do have positive wishes in that direction.
Most probably I am not buying any of these two. I would be more interested in zoom version of the X100 (in 35 mm terms something like 20 - 50 or thereabouts), well, probably. But if fuji brings a set of good working optical converters that would allow for additional 24 and 75 focal lengths, than I could be in.

Not excited about any of the 2 (I didn't vote). As I am completely content with my current set up, I am not exploring anything else. 😉

+1 Though I'm look at picking up (or not) an Oly XA, and/or a TLR (or not), and/or a converted to infrared digicam (or not). Happy with what I have too... but might make an acquisition (or not) down the road. It's fun reading about the new stuff coming out, looking at them... Kinda like ladies... always fun to look at, but you can't have'em all so "love the one (or two or three) you're with..." (as the song goes...)
Both seem like great cameras... Looking forward to pics taken with them by RFF users, reviews, comments, etc.... Doubtful I'll ever own either...

I doubt I'd buy either, but the GF670W would be the one I'd get out of the pair. If my Mamiya 7 were to some to an unpleasant end, I'd certainly consider it.

I'm excited about X100. But if and when I've some saved money I'd buy an M8 or R-D1, or even M9. I used M8 and M8.2 for a very short period of time. Even inexperienced user like me enjoyed the focusing experience... Needless to say Leica lenses are magical. I have no idea about mediam format camera as I have never used one. I wish I knew some photography enthusiasts in Nottingham with MF cameras or Rangefinders (- one of the sad things being a student). 🙁

Honestly, while I'm enthused about Fuji's X1 replacement, the camera that sets my heart all a pitter-patter is the original GF670. I'd probably already have one if I didn't think it would compete directly with my Ikon for camera-time.
(I bought a Fuji GX680III instead.)

I dunno. If I were to get one of either (which I won't) it would be the GW670W, but I am more excited about the X100, if only because it seems to be heralding quite a large shift in the market.

Both are interesting. Time will tell what the X100 will actually be like, but I really like the concept. If they deliver, this camera may very well be the next digital I'm buying. More importantly this is a promise of good things to come in the future.
I would love to try the GF670W, but it's more likely I will buy the folder. I'm afraid this camera would not see enough use to warrant its high price. The folder fits my needs better and is more travel friendly.

I can't even raise a glimmer of interest in the GF670W. The X100 ... interests me only slightly more than the GF670W, but suggests much more exciting developments from Fuji in the not-too-distant future.

Both will outshoot the digital in IQ and tonality
If I wanted 6X7 (why? can crop 6X9), then I would just pick up a GM670 body (also interchangeable lens), and get one more frame on a roll.
Processing is inexpensive through Walmart "send out only", takes ten days and goes to Fuji or Duanes.
The 670W film camera is quite likely to come in at twice the price of the digital, given the sharp blow of reality for the 670 folder starting at $2000 to $2500.
Personally, I have pretty much totally burned out my desire for digital. Too much money and value gone too fast and far more work than medium format or large format film to get the desired image quality
