@kuzano - valid points, however, comparing digital to MF is simply not a fair comparison in terms of IQ. Value is subjective. I have a digital I couldn't get $20 for but I like the camera, still takes good pics IMO - so it has value to me. As great as MF is, it's a film eater. Horses for course, of course - and you'll never hear me knock MF or argue that any digital can match its IQ, but digital IQ is quite good and it doesn't burn through any film. MF when you want to take slow, deliberate, pics and optimal IQ but fewer pictures. Digital when you want good IQ but "HCB it" and shoot to your hearts content spontaneously and rapidly.

If I had thousands to blow on a film camera the Fuji folder - either of them, would be my choice. That's over an MP or anything else out there. Trouble is... I don't have those thousands 🙂

Agree with Nick, they are not really comparable cameras, but given the choice it would be the film eater every time. I will say though that the X100 looks extremely compelling.

I am far more drawn to the GF670w, but I am more drawn to either the fuji 6x9 or a Mamiya press. I have a GS645s and its great, the shots I have taken with her are superb and the larger 6x9 format is calling me. Alas my pockets are not able to stretch that far so I will be happy with what I have.

Well over $3000.

Well over $3000.

The new non-folder GF670 will be well over $3000. Saw one least week on eBay at $3,999.

Interesting since the body is already made, and involves none of the complexity of the folder (no bellows, no folding struts).

and/or a converted to infrared digicam (or not).

Have you ever looked at the Sigma SD14. I came very close to buying one... may still (or not😉).

Two reasons... wanted to try out the foveon sensor.
two, the Sigma DSLR is designed to be "user changeable" to infrared, and not just by filters on front. I've read that the camera can be changed with a mount kit sold on eBay, to infrared and then changed back by the user.

Still pondering that one.
