Hey!

Have any of you burned any of this film yet? What do you think of it? I'm going to be burning a few rolls of it this weekend, and was just curious as to what to expect from it. I hear it's nicer than Superia 1600...

Thanks
Russ

I've shot about 10 rolls and I like it. It has become my favorite high speed color film. It really doesn't come across looking like a high speed film, so in that respect I think it is better than Superia 1600. The colors are a little muted, but in a good way. This is all based on 4 x 6 inch optical prints. Prints from scanned 1600 negatives always look a little grainier to me from the diffraction (or whatever the technical term for what happens when the light bounces off the grain). I've never done any big enlargements to see how it holds up.

Have fun. I love 1600 speed. It lets you get some great shots that you might not get otherwise. I always keep my Natura camera loaded up with some and with me so I can grab those shots.

I shot about 3 rolls worth late last year (just got a new batch from Megaperls). IME, it's definitely better than Superia 1600, but obviously still grainier & muted (saturation-wise) than NPZ/Pro 800Z.
